Stupid Musings #65 — Crisis/Opportunity
It’s great time to build an artistically-weighted writing platform. The best tech (currently Medium) is over 5 years old. Vast improvement can be made re artistic control and distribution. Mind boggling’ly vast for cheap — not a cry for investment.
I don’t know if I’m going to make a front-end editor to my own writing platform project, Ceres. I’m time constrained. That said, artistic writers are getting the shaft — everywhere. We don’t fit the bulk CPM business model. Well, we don’t have to!
I’m still super deep into the code for Ceres — having to learn a few new tricks. I miss python. Dealing with Native, embed as display ad, desktop, special interactivity as React components, client dashboard, payment system, and etc. For anyone who knows my work, I’ve pushed this Medium platform fairly hard. I need to artistically grow — I want more.
I’m one person with a labor of love. I look forward to the light of day. Will anyone care when it’s done? I care — that’s enough.
