Wherever I travel (South included), I amazed at the richness of culture and the intelligence of its inhabitants. Born a Texan, I’m not a true southerner. That said, your article (perhaps intentionally) raises my hackles. Most of these folks are poor and disadvantaged — not dumb. The South is also (rightfully) suspicious of upper crust outsiders.
