It´s not actually “Christianity´s authoritarian impulses.” Christianity has achieved the most complex religious societal development every, with corporate profiteering led globalization leading a diverse process and its negative qualities. There´s also the Christian-based UN community of nations to consider.
With respect, Can you clarify what you mean? Are you saying that Christianity (the most complex societal development of ANY religion vs Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrian (Persian empire), Greco-Roman-whatever Polytheism, and whatever, while corporate profiteering runs separately / in-parallel. That’s a (highly) contentious book-level discussion in and of itself!
I assume this is not what you meant. Reminds of perusing my father’s Conservative Chronicle magazine where (apparently) Caucasians are responsible for 95% of the world’s innovation. Or, that the roots of algebra is not Arabic. Or, that the Caliphate thought the Western Europe was worth invading for it’s dark never-ending forests. Romans invented gunpowder, and etc.
Yep, Medium is meant for rants…not discussions. Seems that could devote a developer and improve it. Sadly, no. Did you know they got a $30M investment — post launch?!
