I’m curious how social will go because I don’t believe avatars meeting in virtual spaces is going to catch on. Getting a bunch of people in a room, virtual or otherwise, isn’t the best way to collaborate. It was done long ago (see Alpha Worlds) and just ended up being a gimmick. Fancy headsets aren’t going to change that.
I’ve found that storytelling/news/experience playback has been the most compelling use of the headset so far and in the case of news also the most useful. Games will be fun but not everyone wants to spend time on leisure and VR is going to have to have solid, productive uses for it to catch on beyond entertainment. Learning about the world is useful.
Anyway lots to look forward to 😊
