Stop Thanking Soldiers For Their Service
Alex Kenney

Clearly, soldiers are just like everybody else — some of them are nice and some of them aren’t. Some of them understand other people, and are gracious about different attitudes, and some of them probably just have contempt for the civilian.

I’d just love to see a situation in a courtroom about an accident, where there is a lawyer and a philosopher and a psychologist as witnesses, and the stance of the prosecution is “Good intentions aren’t relevant when their actions result in negativity.” That just isn’t deep enough or thoughtful enough.
