I know what’s wrong with Medium: People don’t use Recommends correctly.

Astute observation
That’s a critical semantic difference. Wonder whether Medium will fix this. Apple moves fast, but Apple is different. As I’ve said on Medium, Corporate America takes forever to decide the simplest things. No idea we had seven sharing symbols. Designing easy-to-understand pictograms is harder than it looks. ISO graphical symbols for hotels, restaurants and emergency exits convey information in visual shorthand. We need industry-standard icons for the cloud. But some designers have to put their own stamp on things. Trouble is, cleverness can cause confusion. Imagine people looking for the rest rooms after chugging beer at a bar. I bet some have peed their pants in the time it took them to decide if they’re a pointer or setter.
