I created a new series “Point Cloud Data for Deep Learning”, will address the current state-of-the-art algorithms and methods on how to feed point cloud data into a deep neural network architectures. The primary focus of this series is to get close to the autonomous driving applications using point cloud data.

We step into the first part of the series with the basic definition what is a point cloud and how to generate point cloud data in the context of autonomous driving.
