Google Cloud Next 2018 brought a slew of product releases that enhance G Suite users and developers. Here are my favorite G Suite announcements:
New Gmail now Generally Available
The new Gmail gives a material-design look for Gmail UI as well as smart AI-powered assistance such as getting reminded to follow-up on old emails and auto-suggesting a reply using SmartReply. I personally often forget to check-up on a sent email with no reply, and now get a simple reminder to follow-up. It’s great!
Enhancements in the Apps Script Ecosystem
The Apps Script ecosystem is growing with enhancements in Google Sheets Macro Recorder, StackDriver logging, Hangouts Chat bots and more.
In addition, App Maker (which uses Apps Script) is newly available web application builder for G Suite Business and Enterprise users.
Improved Drive Search & Drive Enterprise
Drive Search is getting an upgrade with intelligent suggestions such as viewing the activity of your top collaborators, recent searches, and applying filters against filetypes, collaborators, etc.
Drive Enterprise offers simple, usage-based pricing with all the features of Drive for $8/active user/month + $0.04/GB.
Google Sheets Connections with Salesforce and BigQuery
At Next, the Google Sheets team announced an official Salesforce + Google Sheets Add-on, and integration with BigQuery within your Google Sheet.
In addition, the new Salesforce Data Connetor Add-on allows your sales team to import Salesforce data into Sheets, manipulate it, and then push the changes back to Salesforce.
Google Docs Grammar
Grammar suggestions and a language reviewing interface detect potential writing errors in real time. Read more and join the Early Adopter Program.
