The graphene revolution is here, and our team at GraphenTech is aiming to be at the forefront of it. One of the most significant issues faced by companies in the space is producing graphene-related products on an economic scale. We believe that this can be solved through a combination of industrial scaling, raw material acquisition, and advanced go-to-market strategies.

Industrial scale strategy to supply worldwide

Like many other companies in the graphene space, the success of GraphenTech is highly dependent upon our capacity to mass-produce graphene. That’s why our first objective is to scale up our production to a capacity of 350 tonnes annually. In the long term, we believe that we can reach a stable growth rate and increase our performance by 10% every year.

We’ve created a structural approach that will allow us to reach this target. It begins by setting up two factories that will employ 12 lab technicians and 7 mechanical engineers. To ensure our graphene retains consistent quality, we will commission a high-performance process laboratory; this will enable us to test rapidly and continuously. For strategic purposes, the factories will be located on two different continents. The first factory will be in South America and will be used to supply all of the Americas. The second will be in Europe and will be used to supply European countries and Asia.

Raw Material Supply Strategy

The proven reserves of graphite around the world are about 260 million tonnes, mostly located in China, Turkey, India, Brazil, and Mexico. To achieve the large-scale production that will enable us to meet increasing global demand, we’ll need to access graphite. Graphite is a gray, crystalline, allotrope of carbon that is often found in graphite lumps, amorphous graphite, and crystalline flakes. Many companies in the space are struggling to identify and maintain graphite resources. To ensure reliable and sustainable production, GraphenTech is developing a strategy based on mining concessions for reserves. Today we own a contract that gives us the ability to acquire the equivalent of 850.000 tonnes of graphite in Toledo, Spain. But as mentioned above, the ultimate objective is to acquire two mines.

Go-To-Market Strategy

Thanks to several agreements with high-tech companies developing graphene-based applications, GraphenTech holds a promising potential order book. We’ve made negotiations with potential customers across Europe, Asia, and North America. Furthermore, we will be sending samples for testing in different applications including batteries, material composites, and electronics. As a first step, the sales will focus on small and medium businesses (SMB) from sectors with strong potential for growth including batteries, material composites, coatings, and electronics; this first step is to reinforce our position on SMB markets. Later, we will develop our partnerships with high-tech companies that are leading their sectors. In addition, we are in the process of signing cooperative agreements with different private companies to investigate the production of graphene-based batteries and other related products. And to familiarize customers with the products, a dedicated team of experts in application and development will work closely with our customers.

Our team is on a mission to produce 20% of the worldwide graphene production by 2030. Like all great goals, it’s ambitious. However, we have the capacity and strategy to make it happen.
