Have you found research that shows pruning tomatoes increases productivity? I haven’t thus far and have always heard it is purely optional or unnecessary--rather it enables a more compact plant. Compact could mean fewer but larger fruit or just overall less productive. The fewer garden chores the better! It’s hard enough to keep up with already with seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and preserving!
