State of Web3 In Nigeria
Web3 Web3 Web3... The word encompasses the unambiguously structured daily financial struggle and hustling lives of scattered participants around the globe who are actively invested in the crypto world via their respective communities they align with. It would be informative to know that before the inception of the Web3 we tag ourselves as part of today, there was a Web1 and Web2 we all were also a part of that wasn’t interested in building a life online like most of us are reading this thread. The Web1 and Web2 part of life has been made to look like the Stone Age to us in Web3 now who are actively in crypto and as it is doing this to other countries it very much also applies to Nigeria my dear country!
According to statistics, Nigeria has been announced as the third most active country in the Web3 journey!
Our youths are full of eagerness at the sound of the word “Crypto” and it’s more or less like FOMO in the every day life of a Nigerian crypto Enthusiast! Funny and yet enlightening right? 🤔. One might ask “oh wow why’s an average Nigerian invested in the Web3 world this much?” some would reply “for the money ofc” while some might defer and say its not only for the money but also for educational purposes while some would argue that we’re in it so as not to miss out on catching the latest “which update dey” trend! 😂😂 Nonetheless, to each man his own! But in my understanding we like to make money just like every other country’s citizens does but ours comes with more vigor! We’ve been bred for that life! 😌🚀
Web3 has kept that dream of having that lifestyle alive as there are almost countless numbers of Nigerians who have made it out of the trenches after learning about crypto and joining Web3 communities that are updated on sharing valued infos like sharing pivotal life changing airdrop updates both free and retro drops in their respective communities. And while there are those that provide airdrop updates, there are also those that dole out professional crypto trading signals, arbitrage opportunities, Defi trades and signals, and offer to teach crypto trading and any of the above mentioned as they are all teachable! Hence why crypto is greatly a sought-after career choice for a Nigerian — Yes! You heard me right Career Choice! As Web3 being a habituated ground for building a sustainable life on, it also allows for chasing potential career paths! If you’ve got soft and hard skills that can be implemented digitally and you seek to monetize it, then Web3 is one of your best bets! Be it in the bull or bear you can make a shit ton of money if you get the right audience and that’s not even the best part.. Here’s what beats even me which is — there’s always an audience for your soft or hard skills on Web3! You an artist 🎨? Web3’s got you! You code? Web3 more than welcomes you, You speak fluently or you’re a good public speaker and can speak to communities about a product? Hop in!! You are a linguist and know how to respond to people on one or more known languages? Brother/sister Web3 calls! You know how to moderate and handle talking and chatting a lot of people? Knock Knock! Go open the door mate that’s Web3 knocking! You can write long and short threads like me? What are you waiting for? Join the Web3 train for ye art needed!
Unsurprisingly to me there’d be more career opportunities opened up to Web3 as time progresses hence the mass adoption by countries as its an unstoppable force that powers that be have had to go toe-to-toe with and eventually have had to adopt!
These career opportunities and financial freedom offered by Web3 is what’s attracted Nigerians more than ever. And wherever Nigerians enter we tend to surpass expectations and hardly ever underdeliver hence our uniqueness.
When it comes down to the topic of value Nigerians bring to the Web3 space we’re undeniable.. And of course there’s BLord also known as Bitcoin Lord who is a crypto coach very well known in the crypto space. He’s birth name is Linus Williams ifejiaka and he’s a crypto currency trader and entrepreneur who owns the app Jetpay that trades Bitcoins for crypto individuals for cash and vice versa!
These are just few out of the very many Nigerians who are doing astoundingly well in the Web3 space! There are challenges that come with being in the Web3 space to Nigerians like Nigerian government policies on crypto uses, rugs shilled within Web3 communities and so on and so forth to mention a few.
