Wireframes
I’m back from my GOG Heroes of Might and Magic II binge. I think I’ve been diving too deep into the weeds, which has sapped my will to work on new tech solutions. Last time I was going to look at AngularJS. Thinking more about it, that gives me new dynamic-loading widgets, but doesn’t answer the bigger question about how everything fits together. Time for wireframes!
First stop: search for “free online wireframe tool”. Find a link from 2012. Discover that most of these are not actually free. Gliffy looks good, as does moqups. However, I’m not sure I’m ready to drop real money on these yet. What do the pros use?
To get started, I checked out Google drawings. After adding two frames to the page, I already noticed a limitation: the canvas does not want to enlarge! I want a tool that can show tens or even hundreds of separate UI frames, with text and links between them. I can’t squeeze them all onto a single small page. Well, that’s not going to work.
Next step: ask for help!
