There’s what most of the world thinks forgiveness is: The act of telling someone it is ok for what they did as long as that person and everyone else watching you forgive them. These people aren’t forgiving in pursuit of the peace you speak of. They’re doing it for the approval of other people.
In the regular world, it’s just sad, just as sickening, and I hope someone, someday can break the imaginary chains of seeking approval from others that we bind ourselves in.
The forgiveness you speak of is hard, but it is beautiful. After a full inventory, to break free is magnificient.
It takes time. It takes effort. It takes all of your being.
But moving on, truly moving on, is one of the best parts of life.
