Theses In Tweet Form
Nicholas Carr, American writer, who focuses a lot on the impact of technology on our daily lives today, uses short ‘tweets’ to provoke thought. The following is my personal favorite, as it makes one think for a long time about the impacts of the Internet.
A bird resembles us most when it flies into a window.
A bird flies into a window because it sees the reflection of the clouds and sky, and they go into it with good faith that they are flying free.
Does it look like this bird is free?
With technology taking over our lives, we lose our privacy and are no longer free to do what we want in the privacy of our own homes, surrounded by windows. We believe we are free and safe and have privacy and can do whatever we want, but when will our freedom just be an illusion? When will we hit a window?
