The Frantic Times: The Day the Gas Ran Out

That’s right my fellow Californians this is going to cost YOU a lot. The 12 cent gas tax is nothing compared to what global warming costs you right now. And nothing compared to what it will cost you.

And if we stupidly allow ourselves to run out of gas at the same time, it will be the end of us.

Imagine that tomorrow you go to fill up and the gas station is closed. You have 1/4 of a tank of gas and no way to go to work…you live in Merced and work in San Jose.

You frantically try to find another gas station. You find one that opened, as you gaze at the the sign that says $50.00 a gallon. But you can’t get in line, it goes five miles down the highway.

So you slowly drive home to figure out what to do. You call on your cell phone, but the phone doesn’t work only in certain areas. It is 100 degrees in August, and the power is going off every six hours in the planned outage cycles you have lived with for months.

Your two year old died last month from heat exhaustion.

You finally get close enough to call the bus company, it is closed, went out of business because of gas cost. You call the train company, it is still there, but booked up for months. It runs on diesel, and the ticket to San Jose cost $500 one way.

Conservatives were able to pass a host of laws that left it to private enterprise to deal with the lack of power crisis, still refusing to say global warming as city after city burned.

So you call in, and make up an excuse, that is interrupted by your boss that you have been laid off because the firm cannot operate without gas.

Now you are really scared…no air conditioning, barely any of electricity, and you remember when you get home, if you get home, to load your gun once again, because you see a large band of thieves that are roaming through the neighborhoods; many homes have been abandoned and are empty, as more people migrate to Canada.

You muse for a moment about President Trump, who twenty years ago, was the anti-immigrant hero for stopping the Mexican migration that liberals (who now seem to be right) claimed were migrating because of global warming.

Then you remember the laws he passed to jail those who even said “global warming”…

Now, Americans wait for weeks to be processed at the border of Canada to move out of the sweltering killer heat..

And now any gasoline is impossible to find.

You are trapped. No where to go. Your daughter, the only one left, is starving. You have long ago killed the cat and the dog and ate them. The neighborhood, those three families left, did share for a while but now, with no gas at all, they can’t get to the market to buy the food that has gone up in price 500%.

So you drive home, running out of gas a block from home, leaving it with all the other shiny hulks in the street who suffered your fate weeks ago. You remember the ads, selling cars, how you too could be a star, a handsome hero, if you bought a muscle car, or a huge truck…to show off your power, your ….your….

Stupidity! It was all so stupid because we were being warned, and you cry yet again because there is simply no where to go.

You get almost claustrophobic, you get that trapped feeling once again.

You had a good job, making $500,000 a year. But that wasn’t enough to live in San Jose, whose housing dwindled and increased in cost because the ocean rose ten feet, flooding million of homes and apartments.

We were warned are signs you got tired of seeing as you drove the 10 hours to get to work every week, because that is all you could afford.

And you just got laid off….and you were the second in command of the company.

You finally get home. You go once again to the gun cabinet.

This is hopeless. You talk to you wife once again about ending this misery.

You take out the gun, an AR-15 you bought to show those damned liberals that the 2nd Amendment meant you could own any damned thing you wanted…somehow it doesn’t seem so important now.

You snap in the clip, say a prayer with your wife and daughter, and crying you aim it at your daughter’s head.

The Reckoning!
