This lad made a poor decision and fortunately didn’t pay an extremely high price. 15 year old boys are likely going to smoke a little weed, or take their first drink. It happens and most of them are none the worse for it. I don’t think a first (or even second) offense like this should result in expulsion. If this were a violent offense, my views would be considerably different. Violence to innocents (not a typical schoolyard fight), needs to be dealt with quickly and with severe consequences every. single. time. But that’s a different subject for a different day.
