I sympathize and empathize. I spent 40+ years in radio news. Yeah. Radio stations used to have newsrooms and dedicated news staff. Even working in a major market with an all-news-format station, by 2010 or so I recognized that I wasn’t a Neanderthal, I was a dinosaur. Fortunately my investments worked out well enough that I now live a “sleep late, drink early” retirement lifestyle beside a beach. Which is sort of ironic since “on the beach” is radio industry slang for being unemployed. Good luck on both the job search and the career reinvention. I’ll raise my next glass of adult beverage to you.
