Study On IQ and Dyslexia

Continued from my LinkedIn Post:
Although there are a number of studies on this topic, here is one which reflects a consensus. John D. E. Gabrieli, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Grover Hermann Professor of Health Sciences and Technology and Cognitive Neuroscience, states:
“Reading difficulty is independent of other cognitive abilities.”
They also found Dyslexia and IQ were not correlated. Jack Fletcher, a psychology professor at the University of Houston Texas Medical Center Annex, further supports and says the study conducted: “adds to the evidence against” the concept that reading challenges are related to IQ or intellectual challenges.
A study from Yalescientific.org also points out that:
“child who is extremely bright can also be the one who is struggling to retrieve spoken words or to read fluently”
