The US Navy SEALs are the elite of the US military, the best of the best. They do things that are unfathomable to most and they are given the most difficult of assignments. As an American, I am honored to have them on my side and want to share how a US Navy SEAL will help improve your golf game starting today.

Debrief Your Performance

Lives are constantly on the line in the world of a US Navy SEAL and that is one of the many reasons why they debrief after every mission. Debriefing allows them to objectively evaluate what just occurred and how to be better next time.

Debriefing is so effective because it reduces your emotional connection to what just occurred and self-empowers you to make better choices for improvement.

That is why debriefing will improve your golf game. It reduces the highs and lows of the game, and gets right to the core of you getting better fast. Debriefing is so easy, it costs you absolutely nothing and can be completed after every practice and every round.

Here is how to incorporate this wildly powerful concept into your game today.

Ask a Better Question

The success of my coaching stems from asking a better question in all areas of your game. Debriefing is all about asking a better question and here are five you can use to debrief your next round:

1. On a scale of 1–10, how effective was my Strategy?
2. What percentage of shots was I in The Zone and 100% READY for?
3. What is 1 Positive from today?
4. What is my #1 AFI (Area for Improvement)?
5. What is 1 Action Item I will take to improve ASAP?

The total time required to Debrief is about 30–90 seconds. You will quickly see how debriefing eliminates your emotional attachment to a round while providing a completely different perspective on what just occurred. Not only is it fun and highly motivating, it will absolutely improve your game!

Kayla Lawrence, winner of the 2017 Connecticut Women’s Open

“Debriefing allows me to review what worked and what didn’t after every practice, every round and every tournament. Debriefing is easy, just answer five or six questions, and suddenly I can see where I need to improve and what to take action on.” Kayla Lawrence

Make Debriefing Your One Thing
If you are eager to apply this to your game, keep in mind it requires DISCIPLINE. Like anything else, Debriefing will stop working if you stop doing it, so here is what I recommend to ensure this works for you!

Make Debriefing your One Thing for your golf game, and commit to doing it after every round. You can then create a spreadsheet or notebook to input your answers after each round, so it’s consistently in your sight and in your mind. If you keep your Debriefing tool visible and you make Debriefing the One Thing you will commit to, you will TAKE ACTION!

I have been in corporate training and coaching for 22 years and I believe Debriefing is one of the the most under-utilized disciplines for continuous and lasting improvement.

Debriefing is a phenomenal solution to enhance your skill and have more fun playing the game you love. This wildly powerful concept can also be applied to your career, school or anything else important in your life!

To improve your game and your life, start Debriefing today!
