So the refugee crisis — world wide — that's a sign of what? Success?

Well, no…I suggested a broad set of data by which the word is a better place, including poverty data like this (https://ourworldindata.org/world-poverty/). You’re picking exactly one data point, the current number of refugees. I can’t find historical data on that, but while that’s a big issue for those involved, I would venture a guess that the significance of that crisis currently does not compare to the historical cost of all war activity along many axes (dollars/death/displacement, etc.)
