Great piece! Also I think that the sharing of cultures is possible but obviously the extent to which that can be done depends on one’s upbringing. As an ethnic Ukrainian who lived in Kyiv most of my life, I still couldn’t integrate completely because, whether I liked it or not, I was American. I don’t think attachment to culture is only about local relationships, but also about adherence to tradition.
