Interesting theories. There is some work that shows that certain colors are correlated with page views on Flickr (source: http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.464.6890&rep=rep1&type=pdf) but I think the correlation is not that strong.

I’m curious what would happen if you consistently applied your theories to a few more instances of the game. My experience is that very few people are able to consistently above 50%, even with some good heuristics such as yours. But maybe I’m wrong and there are a few simple rules of thumb that does consistently better than chance.
