Electric Vehicle Project

Today I was on-site checking the status of one of my design projects. This project involved the layout and power requirements for twenty-five electric vehicle battery chargers. The chargers required a 480 volt three-phase power supply and a 120 volt single phase power supply. The 480 volt power will be rectified to dc power to charge the batteries in the electric vehicles. The 120 volts will be used for control power of the charger. The chargers are 55 kW and will draw 66 amps when charging a vehicle. All 25 chargers have now been installed and are operational. The vehicles are behind schedule due to weight issues but should start to arrive within the next month.
