Kyrie and LeBron were always an arranged marriage. LeBron left MIA for Kyrie & Love (essentially younger teammates in their prime vs. Wade/Bosh). Kyrie wasn’t winning before LeBron, but he was also very young. Did Kyrie benefit from LeBron? Yes. But Kyrie has always looked up to Kobe more than LeBron so that says something about his ambitions. Just like Kobe wanted to leave Shaq’s shadow, Kyrie wants the chance to be the focal part of the offense. I think he also has been irked by the way James signs these 1+1 year contracts where he forces the moves on the Front Office. The only reason LeBron is upset is because he’s usually the one calling the shots, but in this case Kyrie is finally standing up to him.
