Why I’m Online, and Who Am I Anyways?
Transitioning out of healthcare to manage social media
Hi. My name is Kaitlyn Halverson. I am a social media manager and I specialize in helping boost SEO by using social media. I want to show you why I’m online, what I love about it and how I can help you utilize social media to scale your brand.
I’ve been on the internet since day one
Yes, yes, I’m old; there I said it; I’m old. In all reality though, I have been using various computer applications both on and offline for as long as I can remember. There isn’t much I haven’t seen although, thanks to the internet, I learn new things every day. I remember when Microsoft Word was called Word Perfect! I remember when everyone used Netscape Navigator Gold. I remember the chatrooms of old.
I remember when we all got Neopets and Myspace accounts; our first nibble into using HTML & CSS. I remember when Facebook opened up to non-college students. I’m still using my very first Facebook account!
I’ve been learning social media for almost a decade. I’ve been offering services for 5 years and those services continue to grow as I learn more about more.
I am here because it has often been difficult to network where I live.
I love traveling, and I feel as though I can travel more without having to physically go there. I can connect with many different perspectives. That’s all life is anyways, perspective.
I am online because I love connecting with people who are in my industry and discovering new passions. It is great fun to see the discussions people engage in, especially when they are so passionate about their topic!
I live in a remote location that is limited in opportunities, and my work is not always visible or recognized. I want to build a network of professional contacts wherever I am. Even if you don’t move around much, you can still be connected with people who share your interests and goals from anywhere on the planet!
I have learned so much, thanks to the internet. I fully believe that someone can earn themselves a college degree from googling and reading books, joining social media groups for engagement, getting zoom buddies as lab partners. It can be done; although I wish we could self-issue certificates of awesomeness. But alas, society isn’t recognizing those at the moment.
I am here because I don’t want my career to stop when I move to a new community.
I want to connect with people who share my interests, even after I move. You never know when or where you will meet someone new-so don’t miss out on an opportunity for growth just because it doesn’t happen in person!
I am here because you never know when you will find someone who is the right fit for your next job.
You never know when you will find someone who is the right fit for your next job. The internet is a great tool to find people who are looking for a job, especially if you are looking for a specific type of position and/or industry. The site allows users to search through different categories and then narrow down their search by location, company size and industry.
Once this information has been entered, it’s super easy to start digging around and finding potential candidates! If your company can offer remote work, the possibilities are endless.
I am here because my career is important to me, and I want a network to help me pursue opportunities.
Maybe you’re not looking for a new job right now, but there’s something else that you want in your life. Maybe it’s finding a mentor or building relationships with other professionals like yourself; maybe you just want to learn new things or use it to replace your cable.
The internet can help you find new opportunities, or even your next job. It’s an easy way to connect with people in your industry who might be able to help you advance your career.
It can help you find a community of like-minded people who will support and encourage you as part of their network. Being part of such a group can give you the confidence needed when facing challenges, as well as opportunities for personal growth and development.
You may think that once you move away from where most of your contacts live, it will be hard to keep up with them and stay connected across time zones or geographical distances. However, the internet makes staying connected possible by allowing us access to our networks wherever we are located in the world!
If anyone has ever said “there’s no point establishing an internet presence” then I would argue otherwise-there is so much more than meets the eye when it comes to leveraging these platforms!
