I guess it is sometimes easier to see things clearly when you are removed from the situation. You know what I find a little bit amazing? It is that most Americans believe in America as the Great Experiment in Democracy. I’m not sure how much we can be blamed. We are spoon fed these stories since day one.

Let’s be real! Nobody is going to sit down and write the guidelines for a perfect government and expect not to do some fine tuning down the road. It would not kill us to look at the strengths and weaknesses of other forms of governments around the world. I’ve not got any extensive knowledge in political science, but there are things that it might be worth looking at. I am intrigued by Parliamentary forms of government were the prime minister always has the majority in the house. When our Presidents have only a minority in congress, not much gets done. I find it fascinating that a British barrister is forbidden by law to represent someone that they know is guilty. In America we say all accused are entitled to the best defense that can be provided. But wait? Why do we want to defend people we know are guilty.

Yes, we are fooled. Every election we have the choice between bad and worse. I don’t that that’s good enough. I believe we could do a lot better!

I am an accidental writer. I came here to look up the writings of someone I’ve read, but do not know the identity of. I never meant to write back!
