Meetings that work (and don’t) in Slack

I love idea of tools and techniques that are fit for purpose.

Makes me think about what in-person meetings are really useful for. Talking is an inefficient data transmission mechanism. But trusting relationships depend on more than efficient transmission of data. So — maybe we should be focused on a new type of meeting that is MEANT to be inefficient. Open ended. Fun. Relationship oriented. Because this is what makes the rest of the teamwork possible.

Conventional wisdom says this is a waste. But is it- or is it just that we have a mismatch … trying to transmit data verbally and also trying to build relationships via chat? Both wrong.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
