New Instagram feature to share your daily life in the raw
If you’ve already upgraded your Instagram to the newest version, you may see the new bar on the top of your feed. This is “Stories” — the feature launched by Instagram which lets you post photos and videos with everyday stuff, not just the brightest moments of life as most of Instagram people post to their permanent account.

The feature is very similar to Snapchat — one of the most popular networks nowadays. This is good news for Snapchat users because it will be really easy for them to become familiar with the new Instagram feature.
The main similarities between the network and the feature are:
* Both of them store posts only for one day;
* As it happens on Snapchat, Instagram shows you who viewed your posts;
* You are able to shoot full-screen or upload things from the last 24 hours of your camera roll.
These things are the main conception of Snapchat Stories, so it feels like Instagram has just copied the network into the app.
Though, it is important to mention the differences between the Instagram and Snapchat Stories:
* Instagram Stories are ordered by your preferences, not in the chronological order like Snapchat Stories are;
* It is impossible to save all your daily story on Instagram, although you may post slides to the main feed to save them there;
* You don’t have to follow person to view his/her stories on Instagram, as long as the profile is public, while on Snapchat it’s obligatorily.
Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom admitted the huge similarity between Snapchat and Instagram Stories on the interview for TechCrunch.
“They deserve all the credit,” said the CEO, but insisted “This isn’t about who invented something. This is about a format, and how you take it to a network and put your own spin on it.”
If you aren’t really familiar with Snapchat, we are glad to tell you how to use new Instagram feature.

To start your Story, just tap the “+” button on the left top side of your Feed screen and take a photo or video (to record a video keep pressing the circle photo button for a few time). Then you are welcome to add filters, emojis, drawings and inscriptions by tapping their buttons and choosing the things you need. After that just tap “Done” to save a story and the checkmark button to publish it. Quite an easy way to share your everyday stuff, isn’t it?
Instagram has always been the network that help us to show everyone how bright our life is and that is not the secret that we always try to make the post better to gain Likes and the good reaction of followers. Instagram Stories has an opposite mission — it lets you just share the reality and doesn’t allow anyone to give Likes or to comment your post. It rids users from being afraid of social judgments.
People have lots of different opinions about the Instagram Stories. Some of them predict death of Snapchat and some think that it is not about Instagram to post bunches of funny/cute real-life photos throughout the day.
“We’re north of 500 million people using the product,” concludes Kevin Systrom in the TechCrunch interview. “We can either let the system evolve the way it evolves — I think that’s a great consumption business. But we want to make sure to keep the soul of what made us love it at the beginning: Share whatever I want, when I want, with who I want. The daily use case.”
Let’s enjoy the new feature and see if the CEO’s sharing conception works!
