The Paradox of Self-Interest: Are We Witnessing the Slow Death of the Non-Profit?

I was a board member for a small non-profit and it was so incredibly difficult to volunteer for a cash strapped organization. We cold called donors constantly and I’m an incredibly shy person so that was just a nightmare for me. The org cycled through so many development directors just because of the high burn out rate. I’m happier being a major donor for the org rather than a volunteer and a board member. Thanks for writing about this!
