Be Not Afraid Of Donald Trump: Be Afraid Of The People Who Support Him
Abby Norman

Thank you for your articulate and concise outline of this issue . I saw this coming after Trump got into the political mix. The comments on social media and on political stories is HEAVILY weighted on the side of what I imagine were the ‘closet’ racists, homophobes, xenophobes and others of that ilk. In my opinion the ‘go ahead’ and ‘come out of the shadows’ permission that they feel Trump offered them surprised me though. It surprised me by the sheer numbers of people that are filled with these attitudes. I was surprised that these people feel that the problem lies in being bound by ‘political correctness’ and don’t see the problem is actually their attitudes. Sadly, I believe you are correct. The abyss has opened and the demons have escaped and are running rampant without fear or shame. It is the attitudes of those supporting Trump that I feel are the greatest threat to American values and democracy. What people with those attitudes never seem to realize is that a move to limit the freedoms of those they dislike and fear eventually become the laws limiting everyone’s freedoms. From there then emerges the Dictator or the Emperor or Der Feuhrer.
