I Biked 280 Miles Across Massachusetts for Fun

Let me tell you a story about my first bike tour…

This is Me…I’m a 21 year old Junior at Babson College who just recently became addicted to biking

I recently watched this video about Jedidiah Jenkins, who quit his job to bike from Oregon to the Tip of S America

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUTL4Op56CM

That’s when I thought… “Why am I sitting here on my dorm couch, DREAMING, when I could be DOING!?”

So, I searched the internet for Bike Tours around Boston, and found the Berkshires to Boston Tour lead by Gary Briere at Rivers Edge Cycling https://www.riversedgecycling.com/

We started at Hancock Shaker Village in Western Mass

And biked 240 miles across MA to Boston

We biked 60 miles a day, then crashed in our tents along the way

What I quickly learned was that it wasn’t about the biking, it was about the people

We chased gorgeous views along the way…

Here are some life lessons from the trip:

1)if you’re trying to go the distance, keep your momentum

2) the bigger the hill, the more rewarding the descent

3) stick to YOUR pace, NOT the pace of those around you

4) and most importantly, just keep pedaling…

If you’re looking for an experience just like this, reach out to Gary Briere at River’s Edge. He’s currently leading a bike tour revolution in the NorthEast.

Keep pedalin’,
