President Barack Obama’s speech at the DNC
I’ve spent many years developing my style in speaking to large audiences. I consider the art of public speaking a privilege because it allows me to make a difference and to contribute to others. I’ve spoken in front in front hundreds at a time and even thousands over my career. I’ve been blessed to have an opportunity to communicate in such a way that impacts an audience. I enjoy educating on topics that could very much impact the quality of others lives. Public speaking allows me to develop the ability to become more effective in shifting my thoughts, and developing a tone that allows for me effectively shift the energy of a room at any moment.
Last night my wife and I watched president Obama address the DNC with such eloquence that can only be identified as Excellence. He spoke with a level of clarity and certainty in his communication and I couldn’t help being captivated by his ability to be tactful in his choice of words. President Obamas slight gestures of his body joined with a gentle smile created a cheerful environment. He was charismatic as usual and he commanded the listening of his audience in such a way that is rarely seen. I enjoyed the stories of his wife and children that just reminded everyone of his commitment to fatherhood.
President Obama had his challenges during his two terms yet with all the resistance he encountered it never stopped him from serving. He made a profound difference at the DNC to endorse Hillary Clinton but ultimately he made a choice to deliver a speech that brought people together and therefore impacted the lives of an entire Country. I was touched, moved and inspired by this incredible human beings speech. His shoes will be hard to fill. I truly feel honored knowing that not only did I have an opportunity to live in a time to witness the 1st African American President. I got to experience a Master Public Speaker that just may go down as one of the “Greatest” presidents of all time.
