When you really think about it, life is not that long.
We are born. We grow up. Most of us got a job or do something to get some money.
Basically it gets down to Eating. Thinking & Doing.
And One Fine day “poof”, we become magic dust powder!
I mean when you really put it into perspective. The planets been around for four point billions of years and we are but a small popup as a species.
2020 has been a truly beautiful year in my opinion. Here is my justification.
In short: I adopted 3 doggos, 2 cattos, learnt more about myself and people around me than I have ever before & I feel super confident that I can handle any challenge after 2020.
“Uncertainty”, was something which I have been shying away from all my life and yet uncertainty was thrust into everybody’s life all over the world at the same time at some point of time in 2020.
It took me a few months to realize that the Lockdown was a blessing in disguise. We all had to face it. When there is no other way than “Through” we always tend to find a way don’t we? Don’t get me wrong. I spent the initial two months of lockdown period crying and complaining to my friends about what’s wrong about everything. After which, I got tired of complaining and I had to figure out a way to deal with this or in to put it in a better way: “What can I do : NOW”? So that I can ensure that my next day could be better”.
So I reluctantly got into a routine, for the first time in years I started working out for more than 3 days in a row. 2020 made me take a good look at my life and say “What needs to improve?” “What can I do in 2020 that can make sure 2021 is a better year?
“What can I do right now?” What a question!
That’s actually the only thing that anybody can actually do isn’t it?
Either I can do “Something” or I can do “Nothing”.
We all face not so pleasant situations, maybe something happens that we thought couldn’t happen. But no matter what, the only thing that you can ever really do is “What you do now” to the best of your ability.
2020 was the year when I realized this simple yet profound truth of life & so much more.
So thank you 2020 for imparting lessons worth of lifetime, in less than a few months with superb efficiency.
And I think a lot of people would agree with me in saying what we faced as a species was an unexpected situation and we have handled it the best way we could and taken the next step into 2021.
We as humans have added richness to our spirit. The gift of a crisis is the strength it leaves us with.
The next time a tough situation comes up we know we will be able to handle it!
And on a bigger sense, this is the first time in recent history an external event has emphasized the fact that we are part of one species across all differences, “Humanity”.
And I think 2020, which has brought about something as profound as this. Deserves some recognition!
Thank you 2020 for making me better, stronger & flexible! Thank you for being the most unexpected rollercoaster of a year ever!
