Tutoring, particularly online tutoring, has become a multi-BILLION dollar industry globally, with $608M in the US alone. That offers students many opportunities to earn.

Excerpt from the book, The Ultimate Guide to Making Money in College

With parents’ busy schedules, and the increasing complexity of courses now being taught in schools (particularly math), the number of parents using paid tutoring services is staggering.

Tutoring, however, is not just for the “academically challenged” student. Many parents want to give their already-excelling child an edge. Even if their child is gifted they will use tutoring.

Although many parents want their children’s tutors to be teachers (degreed, certified), other parents prefer college students to tutor their children. These parents perceive college students as energetic, better able to build relationships with their children, and full of the latest information.

This creates a wonderful opportunity for you, the college student. It also gives you another advantage, especially if you’re heading into the education field: tutoring looks great on your resume.

Below are some excellent places for you to start putting your teaching skills to use. They also offer a lot of flexibility, so you can tutor around your schedule and not stress about having to choose between making money or studying.
