Should I use the Genesis Framework by StudioPress

A lot has changed since the times.

Frameworks were the anger because the developers of subjects used them to assist many themes are created by them quicker than starting from scratch every time.

But that has been 9 and 8 decades ago.

Hence the issue remains. If someone starting now, purchasing a theme for their website, who is a developer and does not plan to code a theme for themselves — should they use a framework?

Here are my reasons for advocating it

There are a whole lot of posts out there that exist already about the Genesis framework and they’re all going to help you thru a bunch of attributes and benefits, like better SEO, etc.. They’re right and accurate and you do not want me to rehash them all.

Instead, I’m going to tell you my reasons, which I expect will help you think about such things in a different manner.

THE GOAL OF GETTING A SITE LIVE

About or beautiful it is, for me, getting a site is. That’s secondary.

Don’t get me wrong, I want the website to look great — that all StudioPress child themes do. But that is not the purpose.

I want a website live for a goal. Not to exist. However, to try something. To induce somebody to do something. To demo something. To get a result.

My aim would be the first thing on my head. So I do not begin by looking over countless themes that are beautiful to find out what brings me. I’m a functionalist. Is that even a word?

It focuses me and my decisions because that objective is high in mind. So I gain from dynamics:

Easy to locate (that I always know where to download the framework)
Fast to download and upload (it’s not a big download — I could even pull down it hotel wi-fi)
Everyone choice will look good enough to go live with
I can have a Genesis site live in 15 minutes and then I can focus on the content. I really don’t mean installed — that requires less than 1 minutes. I mean adjusted that it works for my own purposes. And yet, with that out of the way, I can get back.

I believe you have to launch 100 sites before you realize this dynamic. However, I have done this, and more, and I can tell you that the thing ever is knowing that something is possible but not available to you because of the theme that you’re using.

Ugh!

Matters my customer may need downstream, although I’m putting together, I know all the different plugins that exist to assist tweak matters — not just things I need.

So whether it is the straightforward social icons that a client may want to improve their pages, or the capability to stop showing the date via the simple edits plugin, I know these exist and have been used by thousands and thousands of people. It’s proven. It is fast. It is easy.

I do a good deal of WooCommerce work and I need to know that it will be worked with by my tools. The join plugin helps make Genesis and WooCommerce speak to each other. And with just re-built my t-shirt shop on Genesis, I also know their Infinity Pro theme rocks!

When you are looking at your next motif on a site or a marketplace website for selling that subject, do me a favor. Ask a question. Request a question. Ask a question.

Then come back here and remind yourself why I recommend my friends. Because they are staffed. And they do.

Now some of you may think, “That is just how they treat you Chris,” but you’re wrong. Because I tell folks I’m helping to reach out with their support staff. And my clients return with the same experience.

“I really enjoy that support team.”

Paradoxically, no question.

IT’S NOT GOING ANYWHERE

I spent a while last year interacting with a number of their StudioPress staff — from the very top of this org down to the lowest degree (however you define it).

Here’s what I will tell you. With was sharp and focused on delivering value. Every. Single. One.

You’ll find some cool things, when you check out theme vendors. At least I do. I find things. Then I go looking. And that I find the source code hasn’t been edited in 3 or 2 decades. Ouch!

The frame has existed for a very long time and yet folks there continue currently working on improving it. That.

There’s something to be said about buying the Pro Plus All Issue Bundle as you don’t have to pay again. Ever.

I can’t tell you how I purchased it but I’m thrilled I did. Because these days I don’t spend a cent spinning up a brand new website. I head over, pick up a child theme, and I’m off and running.

I swear I have spent less than $ 3 each motif instance while I take the money I spent and split it across all of the applications. That is wonderful!

So when you’re thinking about cost, ensure you’re thinking about the big picture. And from a business continuity standpoint, I know the team will be there and will probably be producing updates for many years. Since they’ve already done it for years.

The exact same can not be true for theme developers who don’t see enough grip produce a theme, and move on to another.

Since I now have a bunch of little tweaks I have made to plenty of websites, I use a code snippets plugin on each site and drop in what I need (and know works).

That kind of re-use is what makes it very fast to have a website up and running.

There are a ton of topics out there that do lots of cool and crazy items on a webpage. A number of them require interactivity to a new level. Of course tons of them also require really awesome photos to make your site look great (like their presentation).

Like seldom and I started with — I focus on my objective does it end with looking great.

My articles — whether it is eCommerce, pages, forms, or articles — is what counts. And I could rely on Genesis and my kid themes to make certain that’s where the focus is. It.
