I don’t think this country was always this cruel. I think that much of what we’re experiencing now in the US is a backlash against the civil rights movement from back in the 60s and 70s. The powers that be saw the people getting politically involved and taking back their power. That scared those in power, so they started plotting to prevent another movement from happening again.

They started spreading fear, fear of crime, getting people afraid of talking to their neighbors while at the same time making it illegal to congregate publicly — jaywalking laws, loitering laws, etc. We have very few public spaces left. It was mostly college students in the liberal arts who protested, so now college is outrageously expensive and liberal arts students often can’t afford to go to school anymore. Perfect way to shut up the ones who have an imagination and want social change.

Affordable housing has been replaced with expensive condos in an effort to gentrify the country. Wages aren’t going up to match the cost of living. Keep people stressed, working 70 hours per week to survive, doing without sleep, having no time to think. Again, perfect. Their plan is working perfectly!

Yes, I believe all this was planned. They’re very afraid of us people coming together and loving each other, so they keep trying to divide us. Those of us who truly care about making things better need to start loving each other again. It could be very powerful if people could start coming together — Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives, blacks and whites, men and women, etc. But there’s a very strong effort right now to prevent that from happening. Even a lot of political activists and commentators who think of themselves as enlightened keep fostering this division, accusing poor whites of having “white privilege,” and attacking Trump supporters. I’m not a fan of Trump, believe me, but we need to find a way to talk to each other again instead of pointing fingers at each other.

American society has deteriorated alarmingly as a result of the Powers That Be working so hard to keep us stupid, fighting with each other, working constantly, worrying about money constantly, etc. But it’s backfiring now. I believe there’s no turning back. This country’s going down, and it’s sad. This used to be a great country, but now we’re turning into everything we once claimed to be against. I actually think that the PTB are starting to get worried too, but they can’t undo the damage. The damage has been done. And now, many people sit their babies in front of an iPhone or an iPad. They’re letting kids sit in front of those devices as well as smart phones all day long in school now too.

We’re just getting dumb and dumber. It doesn’t bode well.
