how not to miss workouts when traveling

week 3 with NTC

Today I finished my 3rd week with NTC and it was pretty challenging to stay on track! I had to travel to NYC for a few days for work and then flew to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to snowboard.

I wanted to see if I can stick to workouts even without any equipment and I managed. While I was in NYC, I did yoga in a hotel room, using towel as a mat. Luckily for yoga that’s all you really need.

All you need for yoga — a lil space and a towel.

When I was in Jackson Hole, we rented a condo and while there was no equipment I made do with a towel for a mat and wood logs for free weights.

I have been snowboarding in Jackson Hole for the past four days. It is gorgeous here! Me and my sister have covered a lot of ground by visiting resorts in Colorado (Beaver Creek, Vail, Breckenridge), New Hampshire ( Attitash), California (Heavenly) , and now Wyoming (Jackson Hole). This time I overestimated my physical abilities, though. My body hurt so much after 2 days of snowboarding that I had to take the third day slow, with not that many runs. I also messed up my neck pretty bad after wiping out. We used to prep for our week long trips by going to snowboard every weekend in PA, but this time we didn’t and I paid for it with sore and bruised up body. Lesson learned — when going on a snowboarding trip — either adjust workout routine beforehand or try to get on the slopes sooner or both!

I have one more day of snowboarding and then will have to fly back to DC. One day I will live in the mountains …
