Becoming Us: Understanding Indian nationalism

All that you have said is very fine, it is good that finally we are embracing our culture without being apologetic about it, but it also seems that Indians have a tendency to go extreme in behavior. Suddenly this ever rising status of cow and lynchings on the name of it, it seems we are taking it too far. A true cultural embrace would be more than wearing a dhoti in office, it would be when we learn to accept the differences amongst our own people, when we truely live upto ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ and stop beating the crap out of Nigerians and Indians from North-east, and when we start keeping our land and water clean. It is a long way to go, very long indeed.
