EOT Fantasy Week 9 Recap

With our esteemed commissioner busy celebrating his birthday week, I have stepped in to provide this week’s recap. I haven’t done this in a while, but don’t worry, I’ve prepared a lot of topical Tim Tebow jokes for just this occasion. Onwards!

Game 1: Olivia vs. Megan

So Olivia got her second win. Thank God she saved her best week for when she was playing an opponent who started two players on bye. She might not have been able to double Megan’s score otherwise.

Meanwhile, Megan is actually still in playoff contention thanks in no small part to an insane New England defense. If she sets her lineup a few times between now and January, she may stumble into a championship. And she may even do it with Antonio Brown on her bench. I would laugh. And then I would cry.

Game 2: Dakota vs. Ben

Ah, nothing like a little Fitzmagic to bring home the win. The bearded Harvard grad himself allowed Dakota to survive the Ram’s bye week in impressive fashion. Also, Dakota won with McCaffrey in one of his flex spots? Weird flex, but ok.

And so Ben gets his third loss in a row. Can he recover? Can he make the playoffs? Will Nick Foles take him to the promised land? Should we let him into the league next year after he had two kickers on his roster? Tune in next week for these answers and more.

Game 3: Jeff vs. Katie

Jeff has now scored the most points in the league and he has, by far and away, had the most points scored against him. And…that’s it. I actually don’t have anything mean to say about his fantasy team. It’s stacked. Russell Wilson is kicking ass and both Chargers running backs are racking up points. His real team on the other hand…

Too soon?

Katie has now lost two in a row, but she should be able to find her way into the playoffs. Still, her best option at this point is to simply convince Jeff to move her into the other division which is currently comprised of four teams that are best summed up by the following gif:

Sure it’s cute, but they’re not actually accomplishing anything.

Game 4: Greg vs. Kasia

This was the only game with any real drama to it this week (yay stressful football!). I will admit, after Kasia’s 235pt outing the week prior, I was not optimistic about this one. Fortunately Gardner Minshew had other plans.

Good luck to everyone this week — well, except for Katie.
