Bhasha

Bhasha , language is so essential in communicating one’s thought to another person, but the restriction is that the other person should also know and understand the same language, a common language between the two.

Though, there is active research in machine learning, language processing and artificial intelligence in place, where scientists are working to make a device which might help to eliminate the need to know multiple languages and create an ecosystem where one might be able to communicate with the other, even if the two do not know a common language.

Through this poem, I try to narrate as to how one feels when is put in a situation where two strangers do not know a common language, but there is still a language, an expression made through the face and bodily gestures through which they communicate.

Also, do share if you had ever been in such a situation ever.

Two Strangers

dekh bhi raha tha,
sunn bhi raha tha,

par,

samajh nahi raha tha,
main,
uski bhasha ko.

aankhon ko,
maine uski,
kehne diya.

dil ko,
maine mere,
sunne diya.

tab jaa kar,

samajh raha tha,
jaan raha tha
main,
uski bhasha ko,
aur, usko.
