5 Tips to Boost Your Concentration Level for NEET Exam

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination, conducted to select students for MBBS and BDS courses in top medical colleges across the country, is one of the toughest competitive examinations. It takes a lot of hard work and determination to crack this exam. You must seek expert guidance, test your knowledge through NEET online test and revise your chapters regularly.

One of the biggest challenges while preparing for such exams is to maintain concentration. Here are 5 tips to boost your concentration —

1. Get Organized

The first step is to get organized. Set a schedule to know exactly what you are expected to do next — study a new chapter, give NEET online test, revise the previously done topics or take a break. You will be able to manage your time more efficiently and concentrate better when you have set goals to achieve. This instils a sense of competitiveness and boosts your power to concentrate and perform.

2. Take Adequate Sleep

Lack of sleep can be a big hindrance in concentrating efficiently. Many students make the mistake of compromising on their sleep during their NEET exam preparation phase in an attempt to increase their study hours. This in no way helps in increasing your study hours rather it lowers your productivity. Taking 7–8 hours of sleep each day helps in boosting your power to concentrate.

3. Meditate

Meditation is one of the best ways to increase your concentration power. Take out 10–15 minutes from your schedule each day for meditation and see how it helps you concentrate better with each passing day. It is a good idea to sit in self introspection and meditate for some time before going for your exam or even each time you give NEET online test to fetch good results.

4. Exercise

Physical exercise is a great way to burst stress and boost your ability to concentrate. It is suggested to indulge in 30–40 minutes of exercise each day. You can choose any exercise of your choice such as running, jogging, cycling, swimming, yoga or dancing. Remember, the exercise you choose should be moderately intense. These exercises enhance blood flow and improve signal transmission via nerve cells.

5. Do Not Multi-Task

Multi-tasking is one of the worst things to do. It is said to damage your brain and kill your performance. It is highly recommended to take up one task at a time. Concentrate wholly and solely on the task at hand, complete it and then move onto the next. Research reveals that handling multiple tasks at a time does not only lower your ability to concentrate but also lowers your IQ.
