Have you ever been wondering if you should visit a chiropractor? Let’s do a private visit to understand what they do, and why you may want to visit a chiropractor.

What is chiropractic?

According to NHS, the UK’s biggest government health website [1]:

Chiropractic is a treatment where a practitioner called a chiropractor uses their hands to help relieve problems with the bones, muscles and joints. It’s considered a type of complementary medicine (CAM).

You remember that weird satisfying cracking sounds?

Chiropractic can help with pain in muscles and joints, such as:

  • Back pain;
  • Neck pain;
  • Shoulder pain, elbow pain, pain from osteoarthritis and so on

More than 70% of chiropractic patients are most likely to seek treatment because of lower back and/or neck pain [2]. Actually, half of patients (46%) presented to chiropractors because of lower back pain! [3]

That’s right, if you have lower back or neck problems think about a chiropractor! 😉

What happens during chiropractic treatment?

At your first appointment, the chiropractor will assess your symptoms to determine if chiropractic is suitable and what techniques are likely to help. Chiropractors use different techniques such as:

  • spinal manipulation — using their hands;
  • short, sharp thrusting movements;
  • gradually moving your joints into different positions;
  • and pulling or stretching your muscles in different directions!

Typically, the treatment is not painful.

Now, you may map your neck and spine states together, yet you may doubt yourself how effective your visit to a chiropractor might be. Let’s see why you may want to do that.

Reason #1

77% of people who receive chiropractic care describe it as “very effective.” [4]

Moreover, in a consumer survey [4], chiropractic outperformed all other back pain treatments, including prescription medication, deep-tissue massage, yoga, pilates, and over-the-counter medication therapies.

67% patients experience reduction in their lower back pain with manual-thrust manipulation such as chiropractic is more effective as compared to medical care for acute and subacute low back pain, after 4 weeks time of treatment. [5]

This is why over 30 million people in the US see a chiropractor each year.

Reason #2

Rather than sharing million of facts — see it yourself:

Reason #3

Not yet convinced? See these true based stories on how chiropractic helped people in various situations:

This is one story [6]:

I remember I couldn’t look to the left. It was painful to turn my head and look over my shoulder…

I went on like that for two years until I got in a car accident and was recommended a chiropractor... He was like ‘Oh. Your first rib is dislocated.’ and with a couple of carefully placed shoves, suddenly it all cleared up. He told me to look over my shoulder and the freedom of it was astounding. I don’t know much about musculoskeletal structure but I know for a fact he gave me back something that day…

And this is another story [7]:

… I had been in tears with pain for so long ... I was unsure what to expect, surely I wasn’t going to get “cracked” like u see in videos ??? YES I DID 😱☺️ honestly it’s the most satisfying feeling. After weeks of muscle spasms and nerve irritation in my neck and shoulders, a few cracks here and there from Dr Reece relieved so much pain instantly!! I said it then and still say it now “my hero” 🙌

If you have continuous pain in your neck or lower back, why not giving it a try? Do seek a professional chiropractor — expect proper assessment of your symptoms, and make yourself confortable with the reviews and clinic staff, before visiting the place. And of course, do consult your doctor!

Good luck!
