Keep reading to plunge into the backstage of Gushi Force, and don’t miss your chance to test the game’s first public beta: join our Discord community to find out how!
Login Process
A very important step that brings us towards the completion of the beta is undoubtedly the implementation of Google’s Firebase, hence of user login, of authentication and consequently of the multiplayer.
In the last few weeks, we have focused on including the possibility for users to log in to Gushi Force using the credentials they used during registration on the GushiLand Marketplace. So currently it is possible to log in to the game using either one’s email or through the use of the Google sign-in function.
Having completed this phase, we have been working on the management of the API that will allow us to link users’ accounts with the Gushi in their possession on the marketplace. This proved to be a fairly smooth process thanks to Unity, which recently has greatly simplified the procedures for calling the APIs. Now with a few simple commands on Unity it is possible to easily access user data on the site. Clearly, it will be necessary to go through several security tokens to ensure that the user is actually logged in the correct way before associating the user’s data.
Thanks to this system, once the users are logged into Gushi Force, they will be able to choose among their Gushis which one to deploy on the battlefield! To make this as pleasant as possible, we have also implemented a graphical interface that will split the view of one’s Gushis into pages, showing 12 at a time, in case the player has multiple Gushis in his possession.
Keep in mind that to play Gushi Force you will need at least 4 Gushis!
New Battle Animations
In addition to the work on the login, we carried on the graphical implementation of new animations for the arenas to make the game more and more engaging!
Now during Gushi Force fights there will be new movement and attack animations. In addition, our artist Finnedorn has continued to make new visual effects and animations that we have incorporated into the game, among them we can marvel at the brand-new effect for the landwaves and the breaking of the shell when a Gushi is defeated.
Regarding the movement of the Gushi, we have included “rolling” which will be present from now on during the moving phase. For testing reasons the sprite of the “rolled up” Gushi is still the default one, but it will be updated for each family soon.
Finally, as announced in previous chapters, we are working in the implementation of new sound effects. We have already added some elements into the game, but it is still in the early stages; so we’ll unveil some more details in the coming days! Stay tuned!
