I like bull riding… I even like bull fighting… but I don’t think any sport that is centered on the mistreatment of an animal will become huge. It’s that sticky consent thing. The UFC participant, however misguided, wants to be in the octagon, the boxer steps into the ring.

We used to have rat baiting (dropping a terrier into a box of 100 rats and betting on how long it would take to kill them all), cock fighting, and dog races. As popular as they once were, they are relics of the past. Bull riding, bronc busting, and calf roping probably should be too.

Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys. Even Ty Murray, the GOAT, doesn’t want his kid to ride bulls.
