Wow. I agree with what you said here and want to gush that Inside the American Mob is a GREAT series. It highlights how Rudy Giuliani really was a courageous and innovative prosecutor. Too bad he didn’t stop there. I remember when they went to “clean up” the Fulton Fish market. I really believed it couldn’t be done.
There is a good documentary on Koch that I watched which showed how Koch’s housing programs are what turned the city around. There was another article I read about how the Dinkins administration continued the housing revival. In general, I think Giuliani gets psychological credit for many things he did not do.
Koch once likened Giuliani to “Frankenstein’s Monster”, saying “you run at the sight of him.” Truer words were never spoke.
