Great post Meltem! I feel that awareness is key. I also feel that 17% is a terrible number. 50% is ideal. Maybe it’s the Canadian in me, but equality is just that. Equal. There are some great and encouraging stats here but we should all be constantly aware of the issue. We’ve had quite a few discussions here internally about this topic and although we do not have any female hires yet, we sit strongly on the side for gender equality. We also agree it’s about education and awareness at a young age to bring up that talent pool. Lastly I’d like to congratulate every woman on this list and would encourage them to find one or two protégé’s to mentor. Mentorship plays a massive role.
