Maui Brewing Co.

In 2005 the brewery opened their doors, they were committed to brew the best possible beer by doing it 100% locally here in the Hawaiian Island of Maui.
On January 31st of this year, Maui Brewing Company finally opened its doors in the space at 2300 Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki at the Holiday Inn Resort.
Designed to celebrate the art of craft brewing as well as the history and culture of the island they say the space is a reflection of what they value the most at MBC. The place is a combination between industrial aesthetic with an island twist. The restaurant encompasses more than 18,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor dining with 435 seats and a great management team with over 240 employees, which makes it one of the largest bars in the state, which includes the games area, performance stage and retail. Art, graphics and details pay homage to their craft and what makes Maui a special place.

The company owners, Garrett Marrero and Melanie Oxley, is always up for new ideas and their next plan for Oahu in 2018 is a second Brewpub scheduled to open in Kailua’s newly redesigned Lau Hala Shops.

Along with Maui Brewing Company’s four flagship beers, the restaurant will feature MBC beers, previously only found at Kihei brewery, including Pau Hana Pilsner, Wild Hog Nitro Stout, and Black Rock Lager to name a few.
Select beers from Friends in the Craft Beer business from across the country will round out the 36 taps centered in one of the largest bars in the state.

Happy hour specials are also available from 3pm to 6pm daily.

Personally, I still think that MBC has some work to do before they can end up on my Honolulu brewery top three list.

My Top 3 at the moment:

  1. Honolulu Beerworks
  2. Yard House
  3. Aloha Beer Company

But I also have good news, the other day with her moms, Denise made another attempt to try their food, so they ended up choosing the Poke bowl with nori rice and homemade kimchee on the side. In addition, they also tried the tater tots. Both dishes exceeded their expectations of ‘onoliciousness. Would like to also add that her quest for trying out their new Acai Beer was to no avail since it seems to be quite popular there and was not available, until next time…..Hope to have a try at the burgers which looked rather big….
