10 Things You Should be Scared of 🎃👻
In lieu of dressing up this Halloween, I wrote up 10 things you should be scared of 🎃👻 (I’m not actually scared of the below, except for two of them)

1. SoftBank Vision Fund II doesn’t launch, and Vision Fund I gets frozen. Late-stage valuations cool as a result of SoftBank pulling out of deals. Down rounds for late-stage companies, stagnant valuations for early-stage startups.
2. Fewer IPOs in 2020 as private companies weigh the positives and negatives of going public. Absence of a SoftBank-like late-stage buyer creates a void in capital. Name brand VCs don’t come together in time to syndicate rounds for late-stage companies, further muting valuations and causing some funds to close.
3. China and US trade deal drags on, permanently damaging international relations and isolating innovation within borders for the next 50 years.
4. Quantum computing breaks RSA encryption.
5. Gene editing doesn’t create mutants, but instead gets FDA approval for specific diseases.
6. Wildfires gets increasingly worse around the world, becomes the first palpable impact of climate change.
7. Flying cars usher in a new wave of innovation and speciation in flight.
8. Autonomous driving becomes the norm between Arizona and Texas highways. Gas stations, food marts, motels along the highways declare bankruptcy.
9. Large tech gets regulated, stifling innovation much like the Red Flag Traffic Laws at the beginning of the automobile era to protect horse-drawn carriages.
10. Trump gets a second term, appoints not one, but two supreme court justices.
