INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY #4: NATIONAL MUSUEM

To visit one of the many museums here in our country is part of my bucket list and that goal is done (one out of many). National museum is compose of historic and memorable art works made by creative and unique artist. Each art work has different stories behind it but, with the viewers, it depends on how you would interpret it.

SPOLARIUM. This for me conveys how our Filipino ancestors went through the leadership of the spaniards. They were mistreated and killed without any mercy. In small words, we should thank them and recognize them as the people who were once proud for our country.

PAINT BRUSH ON GREEN RECTANGLE. This is made by Rock Drilon. Every artist or painter uses his or her equipment in making a wonderful masterpiece. I could say that this brush in the artwork has gone through all the strokes in life with the artist in all the struggles he has done just to make that perfect artwork for the viewers to love just to express himself and show what talent he has or even inspire others to do the same way.

We Filipinos are fund of celebrating fiestas for delicacies or even religious images. I would interpret this as a symbol of how we Filipinos give big respect to our own religion in the form of celebrating fiestas. Colorful and creative fiestas indeed.

This is a framed memorabilia of an artist. It is nice how some of us usually keep actual things to represent wonderful memories we encounter with our life. Maybe this items are some of the greatest things that would represent the certain artist being commemorated and show what are the things he has done to our country.

LANDSCAPED AND SEASCAPES. This work is made by Fernando Amorsolo. I could say that this set of artworks shows how Filipinos in the province works hard just to earn enough money to sustain the needs of their family. They do fishing, farming and especially go to church to ask for help. That’s the best thing we Filipinos tend to do — to become hardworkers even if in the midst of breaking down or giving up.

There 2 set of artworks tend to bring and unite people for it shows how people live their daily lives, how to be unique and how to be them in their own simple way. Maybe at times it could help viewers realize some thoughts that are bothering them.
