Duke Finds Friends

Duke was a beagle living in a mansion with more toys than he could count.
Every day, he would play with a different toy, some would squeak and others would bounce.
Everyday, he would look out the window and see other dogs all playing with only one toy.

Then one day, a brand new puppy came running through the door of his mansion.
The puppy’s energy made Duke dislike him and made him wonder about when he got too old to entertain his family.
Day after day, Duke would sit in the corner and play by himself. All the while his human parents played with his new puppy, Rocky.
As he grew green with envy, Duke imagined being a puppy again and having all the attention.
Duke felt so alone and sad that he ran over to play with his new puppy brother.
While playing with his new friend, he realized how much fun it was.
Maybe sharing toys and human attention wasn’t so bad.
He now realized why all the dogs played outside and shared their toys.
Both Rocky and Duke began to play outside with the other dogs and shared their toys with the whole group.
Duke enjoyed himself much more than he ever had alone.
Duke now knew that his previous jealousy prevented him from having fun and making friends.
Duke realized the enjoyment he gained from friends and sharing.
